CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM BID PROCESS STEPS

A public notice is posted in the legal section of the local newspaper.

Builder's exchanges are notified of the project.

Plans and specifications are made available for purchase at the City of Oakley Public Works and Engineering Division or the department managing the project. (Non-refundable fees are based on document production costs.) A set of plans and specifications is sent at a builder's request.

The bid opening date is determined.

A Plan-holder's list can be viewed at the Community Development Department counter, at the builder's exchanges, or contact the Public Works/Engineering Division at 925-625-7037 for a copy.

Once the bidding opens, results are faxed to the builder's exchanges and are also available by telephone.

The apparent low bid is verified.

City staff forwards the project to the City Council for approval/disapproval.

City Council authorizes/denies contract for the work.
