    Contra Costa Veterans Service Office

    What is the County Veterans Service Office (CVSO)?

    The Contra Costa Veteran Services Office provides assistance to the men and women who served in the Armed Forces of America, their dependents and survivors, and the general public, in obtaining benefits from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Department of Defense (DOD), California Department of Veterans Affairs (CDVA), and other programs for veterans and their families.

    Purpose

    Our staff provides respectful advocacy and representation to the veterans community regarding earned entitlement rights to federal, state and local benefits and services for veterans.

    We offer the following services:

    • Comprehensive benefit counseling
    • Claim development, preparation & submission
    • Case Management
    • Initiate appeals when appropriate
    • Networking with federal, state and local agencies
    • Public speaking & media relations

    Information and referral for the following:

    • Crisis Intervention
    • Public assistance & homeless services
    • Social Security
    • And numerous miscellaneous issues
