    COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR'S BIOGRAPHY

    Rebecca Willis has been serving Oakley as its Community Development Director since May of 2005.  Ms. Willis has twenty years of planning and community development experience.  Prior to Oakley, Miss Willis worked for the Cities of Dixon, West Sacramento, Rancho Cucamonga, and San Dimas.  Rebecca is also a member of the nationally recognized American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP).  Outside of work, Rebecca enjoys kayaking and mountain bike riding.

    DEPARTMENT RESPONSIBILITIES

    The Community Development Department includes the Planning Department. The responsibilities of the Community Development Department include:

    • Implementing policy pertaining to orderly and balanced physical growth in the City of Oakley
    • Strengthen and preserve the City's neighborhoods
    • Developing the City's revenue base
    • Coordinating new growth and long range plans
    • Assuring safe construction for all City residents and merchants
    • Coordinating land use and infrastructure
    • Providing a public process for rezoning, subdivisions and design review

    GOAL

    To strive to assure orderly growth, responsive service, interdepartmental coordination, and fulfillment of the City's long-range objectives.

    DID YOU KNOW?

    The City of Oakley has grown!  2,000 acres of land was annexed into City limits (East Cypress).
