    Traffic Unit Mission Statement

The mission of the Oakley Police Department Traffic Enforcement Unit is to reduce traffic collisions and the injuries which result through a combination of enforcement and education.  Additionally, the traffic unit seeks to maintain the quality of our roadways through our commercial vehicle enforcement program.  Finally, the traffic unit handles collision investigations which resulted in the serious injury or death of a motorist or pedestrian.

To accomplish these tasks, the traffic unit uses traffic enforcement motorcycles, a commercial enforcement vehicle equipped with portable scale equipment, a state of the art computer aided diagramming system, and traffic advisement trailers which can be positioned in different locations around the city.

The overarching goal of the Traffic Enforcement Unit is to save lives and limit injuries.

To contact the traffic enforcement unit, please e-mail trafficcop@ci.oakley.ca.us.
